rearend disc posi conversion (HELP)
rearend disc posi conversion (HELP)
Does anyone know the rear axle code for a 92 Camaro 10 bolt 3.73 posi rear? I am about to purchase one, but I want to make sure it is what it is supposed to be. I also want to know weather or not to get the prop. valve and the master cylindar from the donor (disc rear) car or to just get an adjustable prop. valve from summit. How hard is it to install an adjustable valve?

Did you mean 92? I don't think there was a 3.73 gear in any f-body in '92; I believe that stopped in '85. Did you mean '82? Er, wait, I don't know if '82's had 3.73's either.
What year is your car? You will always need to get the prop valve from both cars. 82-88 and 89-92 had different requirements for master cylinders. Let us know.
Anyone got that 3.73 info?

My car is a 92 and the rear I am going to get is from a wrecking yard. I have only talked to the guy over the phone and he claimes that it is a 92 10 bolt with posi disc and 3.73 ratio.

Its possible the previous owner swapped in a 3.73 gear, but it didnt come stock in 92. The highest available stock was 3.42. The only way to know for sure is to pull the cover and look at the ring&pinion for the numbers, or to spin the wheels and count the number of times the driveshaft turns. (or the yoke if there is no driveshaft)
