Here's the scoop, the other day I got stuck comming up my drive way. I put it in first gear and the car got unstuck and went on up the driveway fine. But now when I drive it, it won't shift into second gear. Could my linkage be messed up. My fluid was low but I filled it up, and it didn't seem to help any.

Well there's several thing that might have gone wrong. Most then likely it has something to do with your governor though. I'd say pull it out and check whether the gear has broken off, or the teeth on it are too worn. It also might have gotten stuck somehow.

Will it shift into the other gears manually. If it does then you have a governor problem if not you are sol. Do you have any other gears? How fast have you driven it in 1st? It is possible however unlikely that your throttle pressure is way high. Maybe the tv got stuck in the wot position. That is way out there though. Check the governor first.
