I am wanting to put a non-lockup th-350 in my 91rs. It is not fuel injected so I don't have to worry about the computer.I need to know if i can change tail housings because I have a bad th-350 out of a 82 Z-28 but it has the lockup converter. Or do I have to buy a kit? Thanks

Why do you want to change the tail housing? Is your current tail housing no good? 82 didn't get a th350. Has the tranny been replaced in the 82, or is it the original th200c? The lock-up has nothing to do with the tail housing, so if you are swapping tail housings from a th350 to another th350 it will work if both have the same length tail shaft.

I posted to this earlier, But I don't know where it went.
82 camero is right about the TH350 having to be swapped for one to be in the car. GM only put TH200c's in all 82 cars, 83 Cars got 700's along with 200c's. No Thirdgen ever came from the factory with TH350's. As for the lock up convertor just use a standard TH350, and you don't need to worry about it. The tail shaft needs to have an torque arm mount, eithor aftermarket or your own version, take your pick. Other wise if you ues a drive shaft out of a 200c car it will be the right length for a TH350.

The stock drive shaft should fall into place. The tail shaft need not have a torque arm mount on it. I am quite certain that Steve Spohn sells crossmembers that will bolt right up to the torque arm. Why no lockup?????? i can't think of any reason not to have it. It doesn't effect the functioning or reliability of the tranny at all. As a side note I would heartily recomend a 200-4r tranny or if you must a 700. Not having od sucks major *** . Trust me
