STALL CONVERTOR
its a torque converter with a higher stall speed than stock. the higher stall speed means that it lets the engines rpm's come up before it couples solidly with the tranny. i have about 2500 stall in my 88 350 iroc and its just a little big. but it sure is fun when you floor it. tires a blazing. if your thinking of going with a stall, keep it conservative about 2200 or less, and always run a lockup converter with a stall if its a street driven car.
