i think my tranny doesnt shift right
i have a 87 iroc z with a swapped 350 and a 700r4 tranny and it doesnt seem to like to shift into 2nd like it almost wants to redline but then it shifts just before like it seems to rev pretty high and long before it shifts and im not sure if its normal cuz its my first camaro and first time driving with a 700r4 and even then it seems to have trouble shifting period but into 2nd is the worse, is my transmission done for or is their like a certain part i might want to check

You could reset the TV cable. However, the same thing happened to me a few times and the cause was a stuck governer. If it IS the governer, those are on the outside of the tranny and easily replaceable, only IF that is the problem. These were the same exact symptoms too. Just about redlining or redlining the slamming into 2nd, etc. I didn't do the replacing, but I watched and it is on the passenger side, ummm i guess middle or rear of the tranny. It's a relatively large item, looking like a mushroom sticking out on the side, held in by clips or something or other.
Hopefully your problem is either the TV cable or the governer, 2 very easy to fix items. And no, the tranny should never do that on normal acceleration. It should shift, at least from the factory and not with any performance mods, very smooth. You want this fixed ASAP or you can seriously damage the tranny. Driving around like that, you're likely to blow up a tranny or 2, as I did with it happening for only a very short while.
