Why?

You can simply unplug the TCC connector on the rear driver's side of the trans, above the trans pan. Tie the wire up & out of the way of any road hazards so it doesn't snag (or burn) on anything.

Of course then you get the lowered gas mileage and increased fluid heat...

If you want to make a switch that will keep the TCC unlocked, it's possible. When you hit the brake while the TCC's in lockup, there's a circuit that will unlock the TCC. You'd tap into that with a switch.

You can buy a tranny lock-up harness that keeps the torque converter clutch (TCC) unlocked in 2nd and 3rd gears, but allows it to still lock up in 4th. I have one in my IROC (both Summit and Jegs sell them) and really like it. The engine does lug around with the TCC locked up in lower gears, and I go through the traps (1/4-mile drag) at a higher engine speed (a good 400 rpm higher) for better et's and trap speeds. Oh, this harness plugs in between the tranny and the existing harness, a 5-minute job including jacking the car up. The stock harness going to the tranny is on the driver's side and has a 4-prong connector on the end of it that plugs into the tranny.
