i was pulling into my neighborhood last night and i was approaching a stop sign. i coasted my way towards the stop sign. when i got down to about 5mph i shifted it in 1st and heard some louder than usual grinding noise so i put the stick in neutral. the grinding noise didn't stop and just got worse and it felt like the trans. was bout to bust. it didn't stop till i came to a complete stop at the stop sign. when i started to go again i heard a "clunk" and everything was normal till i had to come to a stop. now, everytime i come near a stop i have to stop all the way before i can shift it into 1st or else the car feels like its bout to explode. i haven't had anytime to look at the car so does anyone have an idea whats wrong?
