I have an 82 Trans-Am, was thinking about doing a 2004r swap into her insted of the 700R4, anyone ever do this, if so do you know where i can get a torque arm bracket from for the 2004r as well as what to use for the proper detent cable...etc?

Anyone even do this before????

Spohn makes the crossmember for the 200. Not sure about the torque arm mount. I'm contemplating doing this myself, I just don't want to lose my dual gate shifter.

Re: 2004r swap???

The T-TA with the buick V6 came with the 2004R so there is a factory PN for that housing. You can also mount the arm to the X member and spare the trans the extra stress.

With just a few bolt in parts the 200 is much stronger than the 700 and allows for full throttle in 4th unlike the 700. The gear spread is much better too. Mostly because the 1-2 RPM drop is much less drastic.
