Slipping?

I have a 1992 B4C w/ the 700R4. Lately it has felt like the engine is losing power around the 2000-3000rpm range. I suspect the tranny is slipping. I was told that the bands in the tranny can be tightened which may help this problem. Has anyone done this, is it difficult? I would like to avoid a full rebuild if possible. Thanks.

Well I personally have never heard of that. Tightning the bands??? But it is possible you may need to adjust the TV cable. There is a great write up around here with detailed pics. Just try and do a search. Kevin
