i just bought my 92 bird 305 tbi and im looking into purchaseing a b&m shift improver kit ya know the street and strip one. there under $45 at the auto parts store. my tranny is fine right now, no slipping no nothing, i just want to know if the kit will harm the stock tranny. i really dont plan on beating the snot out of the car but if it shall arise that the honda sittin next to me at the red light wants to race i dont want to f the tranny up under full acceleration of the line. i only want one because my mother has a chevy astro w/ a 350 conversion and it has this kit in it and i like the way it chirps the tires in second gear while full throttled. yeah it sounds hot too it has true duals with some sort of nice mufflers, it sound way better than my firebird does now or even without my muffler on. just picture your average mother driveing around in this thing.

A shift kit will only make it last longer than it already will by increasing clutch pressure and shortening shift times. The only way it will hurt anything is if you have a gear set or shell that is about to break anyway.
