I'm looking into buying a '91 Camaro RS (V8), the one i'm looking at right now has about 128,000 miles. Generally, how long do their transmissions last?

And another question, how can I check to see if the transmission has recently been replaced? The camaro is located at a dealer, and he prolly dsoes not have the official maintenance records.

 

Well my 91RS has 200,000 miles on it still running strong...although i cant be sure to say that its never been replaced.

 

100k+ is normal with fluid changes and proper TV cable adjustment.

mine had 170k on it and it still barked 2nd under full throttle, of course it puked 2 months after the 350 went in.

with a stock 305 a good long time put a 350 and more tourqe in front and bye bye tranny.

1989 firebird formula

Mods: converted from T.B.I. to a carburator 305 to a 350. Flowmater exhaust,hedman shortie hedders,202 heads,350 horse cam,bored.40 over, Edlebrock torker2 intake.

Future mods 400 performer rpm intake (polished) and 600 edlebrock carb, comp roller cam, and way better heads. orpossibly a 383 stroker?
