Auto ->T5 swap: Engine wont crank?
So I have everything back together, new starter, clutch, and all the jazz. Now I have the 4 prong wire from the 700R4 hanging by the new tranny. I believe i have to splice two of these wires into the reverse switch and just hide away the other two.
I installed 3rd gen pedals and did not hook any cruise control or remove any auto stuff from the sterring column. Do I need to hook up a nuetral safety switch to the clutch pedal to even start it? or do i have some other problem.

Ok so I connected the old auto nuetral safety switch and put it in the park position. It still wont crank. im leaning towards some other problem maybe.
I do not need a clutch nuetral saftey switch to start the car correct? just need to make sure its in nuetral?

the auto had the neutral safety switch on the selector switch on the shifter itself. You have to hook it back up somehow to make it work, the trans should have a switch in it, and there should be one on the pedals. That way the clutch HAS to be in and the trans HAS to be in N for the car to crank. I suppose if you too the wires that used to go the the auto shifter switch, the large purple and yellow wire, and tied them together it would work, but its not a good idea
that will take care of the switch, is the starter wired right? did you mess with anything else?

Yes, it should crank. I wired the purple and yellow wires together at the neutral safety switch and mine will crank whenever. I do have the clutch switch, but haven't bothered to put it in.

Alright I did get it to start. I hooked up the old auto shifter nuetral safety switch and also I forgot that i had cut the yellow ignition line when I removed the gm goodwrench alram system.
All is well, thanks!
