10 years/2k miles...should I service
For the first 8 or so years of its life, the car was a daily driver (on weekends at least...wife has company car for work).
Once we got married, we essentially parked the car in the garage and stopped driving it.
So, in the last 9 or 10 years, only about 2k miles have been put on it. It has 100k on it now. When my wife used to drive it she had all the services done at the dealership as scheduled. Since we parked, it hasn't gone back to the dealership.
So, I don't know if the transmission was ever serviced. The fluid is still nice and red and the appropriate level.
The other day I noticed 3 drops on the garage floor which is the first time the transmission has ever leaked.
I thought I would just pull the pan and change the filter and gasket.
Then I got to thinking about if that might cause some problems. I'm not ready to pull it and rebuild it.
So, let's assume that the transmission has never been serviced. Should I jsut live with the occassional drop?
Thanks!

Because of condensation over the years, all the fluids should be replaced including brake fluid.

I've been working on it all year getting it back in shape. I've replaced all the fluids, including the brake fluid. In fact, I've got all new brake hoses on all four corners, and new hard lines in the rear end as well (one was pinched...don't know how or how long).
The only thing I haven't messed with is the transmission.
