where can i get heavier weights for my governor in my 700R4?
Ive heard that if i have a soft 1-2 shift nd no 2-3 WOT upshift to switch to heavier weights on the governer. under part throttle, 1-2 is pretty crisp, but WOT lags pretty bad. I have a shift kit in it. Where can i get these weights? is there a part # i can get??

B&M sells a governor recalibration kit.It comes with springs and weights.
The govenor controls the shift point at a
specific RPM.The B&M kit would basicly let you "tune" your shift points.
I dont think that the govenor is your problem.
I would start by reseting you TV cable.I bet
the TV cable is your problem.

I don't beleive you need hevier weights for your goveror. I had the same problem you have, same car, engine, everything. Are you sure the tranny thats in it came from a GTA? If it didn't it may have incorrectly calibrated weights. Heavier weights will make the governor spin out faster, thus making the shifts too soon, or in your case not shift down correctly. Go get a governor from GM and make sure you can return it if your car already has the same one they gave you. It's really easy to change these, probably about 10 mins. Just look on the drivers side of the tranny there will be a circular cover lookin thing. Simply pry that out with a screwdriver and pull out the Governor, slide the other in, and calibrate your TV cable to suit your needs and see if it helps.
