clunk followed by grinding at takeoff

92 camaro rs LO3 700r4, clunk heard and felt right below shifter, tranny mount and ujoints appear intact, what's the deal?

trans mount, not sure about the grinding noise

Engine: L69: cam and porting
Transmission: T5, 3.73 rear
possibly a bad u joint. This happened to my S10 truck.

ok,take a look at the floorboard above the tailshaft...if it looks all dented up,your rear mount is bad.The mount will look intact,but to test it just put a jack under the trans and jack up.....if the trans comes up more that a little bit the mount is junk
its like $10 at the zone

Trans mount, it happened to me like three times in my formula, the stock one is a very weak part. Go for a poly mount when you replace it.
