Is the manual lockup switch really worth it?

I think so! I have a 2.8 V6 with the 700r4 trans. On two almost identical runs (from 0 mph), I lost 0.18 second and gained 1.5 mph. Check out runs #6 and #7 at my old message here: https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/000417.html
I wouldn't say to use that switch all the time on the street, though.

Ive heard of a couple guys claiming .5 but i highly doubt youll lose that much. Ive never timed the differnce...but i locked mine up one time and didnt feel too much of a difference...then again my tranny has a lot of miles and i think i didnt want to feel a difference cause if i did, id do it alot and kill my tranny. So maybe my mind was tricking me into thinking it didnt help much. A way to test how much of a difference it makes is to hook up a wire or paper clip into two connections on your ADLD connection. I think its like 2-3 or something...but not sure...check the tech articles to be sure.
