Maybe a little off topic, anyone ship a t-56?

Howdy,
I am at a point where i really don't want to pull my t-56 apart myself, i would rather pay a pro to do it then put it back in again and just....go. However, i don't want to get brutally gouged with shipping it. Has anyone had any experience with shipping their trans out, what company did you use, how far did it go, and how much did it cost? From NJ to Michigan UPS freight wanted...uh...450-500 bucks. Yeah. Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions about how i should go about this?

Thanks!
Mike

When my complete conversion shipped to me it was just about $150 by Fed-x freight services. I had to go pick it up at the Fed-X depot. Door to door was over $100 more, and the depot was only 10 miles away for me.

If your having a shop rebuild the trans, they probably have some suggestions on how to ship it.
