How much lucas oil do I use?

If I am using Lucas oil for my for my 10 bolt rear end how many quarts do I use? Lucas already has the additive in it. When I searched i found someone saying to use 2 quarts plus the additive so I am just wondering how many quarts that adds up to? Thanks

So far there is 4 quarts in there and that almost seems like to much.

You're filling it to the bottom of the fill plug hole?

Most automotive diffs take 2-3 liters/quarts

You are filling through the plug on the side of the housing?

Yes I am filling through the plug on the side of the housing. Is it OK to run it with 4 quarts or should I take some out.

Re: How much lucas oil do I use?

So what do you guys think, should I drain a quart out on my rear end to make it 3 quarts or should I leave the 4 quarts in there? I cant think of anything bad happening with 4 quarts of oil and it never over flowed out of the fill plug so maybe the rear end can hold 4 quarts. I know nothing about rear ends by the way!

It's not possible to overfill it.
