stall selection

i was thinking of using the matching cam for the performer rpm intake and was wondering if a 2,100 rpm stall is enough??? what about low end using a stall? will it still be there??? the cams specs are:

.488/.510 lift 234/244@50 duration. 112 lsa.

that camshaft is complete junk.
2100 is not enough.
A good converter like the Vigilante will increase your bottom end.

A 2100 converter is too small for the camshaft. You should be making maximum power around 2500-2800rpm. I'd say a 2600rpm converter with a 3.23 or 3.42 gear would work best here and still get decent mileage. Your cylinder heads are weak and are the worst part in your system, spend $850 and get the Trick Flow heads from Summit. With them you will be getting mid 13 second times.

I couldn't agree more! That cam is one of the worst for street use. You will have a crappy idle and no porwer until about 2500 rpms. With that said, you will need a converter in the 2800-3000 rpms stall range to make the best use of that cam and some good heads to make that combo live like it wants to at the upper rpm range.

I like my Comp Cam 262 grind and I have to pass the emissions check from hell in this state. I may have gone with a larger LSA (112-114) to calm my idle a bit, but it is certinly torrlerable when the car warms up. I have a ~3000 stall converter too.
