bought a used t-5:need specs for t -5 synchros

well i bought a t-5 out of a 87 iroc.i took off the tailhousing and cover.everything inside looks ok.i know theres supposed to be XXXXX ammount or space in between the syncro and the hub it presses against, measured with feeler gauges in thousandths i think.what is the spec for that?its not in my book.i dont want to re-build this if i dont have to ,it loosk ok,but i just want to make sure the synchros are ok before i bolt this trans up and have to rip it right back out

The non WC synchros are quite durable. Sorry i dont have a spec on them, but I look at the teeth on the outside and the grooves on the inside...all should be sharp. Also, while you have it apart, check the side clearance on the countershaft and the preload on the mainshaft. If you'd like i can send you a word file that RB wrote to me a coupla years back about rebuilding a T-5.

its not all the way apart,so i cant look at the grooves on the inside of the synchros...they all look sharp+clean
i just want to make sure that theres enough wear material left on the synchros.if that spec is out, then ill totally dissassenble and replace them
