Disc brake rear end swap

I've got and 83 parts car with rear disc and a posi.I want to put the 83 rearend in my running 84 Z.Is this just a simple swap or are there mods I don't realize yet? Does my current master work with the disc brake set-up.The 84 has drums and a open rear-end.
thanks Leebo

IIRC (and I may not), 82-83 used SAE fittings and 84 up was metric. While your current master would work fine, mating up the proportioning valve might be a problem. (The board consensus, I think, would be to swap the valve, but some have not and have apparently been content.)

Re: Disc brake rear end swap

id say grab the proportioning valve from the donor car aswell. its cheap insurance. ive heard stories of people swapping in brakes and not getting the valve and then they go through rear pads twice as fast as front pads. but then again ive heard people having no problems with them. but id say dont take a chance of being one of those unlucky people. get all the braking power you can while your at it.
