rear gears.....

rear gears.....

sunday i snapped an axle on my limited slip rear......it has 3.73 gears.....i have replaced it with a rear with a 3.27 posi rear....can i reuse them gears in this rear....its a same year run rear end

As long as the 3.27's were the original gears in the carrier(as long as it's a 3-series carrier in other words) and they are both ten bolts, then yes you can.

Engine: L92/LQ4 (both w/4" stroke)
Transmission: 4L80E/4L80E
Axle/Gears: 12B-3.73/9"-3.89
3.27 = 9 bolt.

Won't work.

Unless someone told you wrong. Count the cover bolts: 9 = 9 bolt, and probably 3.27.

10 = 10 bolt, and probably 3.23. Then, yes, your 3.73 gears will fit.

Thanks. I couldn't remeber whether the 3.27 was the 9 bolt or if the 3.23 was.
