At Least I Think It's The Transmission...
I've put about 300 miles on the new 305 now and noticed an odd problem I had never experienced before my last engine developed a mean knock.
This just started yesterday. Sometimes when I punch the gas, the engine shoots straight to 3500 (So fast you'd think it was in neutral) RPM, but the car doesn't get up and go. It maintains the same speed until I let of the gas vierly briefly. Other problems the tranny has always had since I bought the car is it shifts funny. If you have the pedal pressed 3/4 or more or even sometimes half way down, if WILL NOT shift to the next gear until you let up on the pedal. After driving the car relatively hard for the first few days to help seat the piston rings, I could almost swear I notice a small loss in power since this.
IS the tranny toast? Or is something simple out of tune here?
I'd prefer not to spend too much money as I'm junking it in the spring anyways for a stage 3 700R4.
