Please help. Is it possible, bent driveshaft???

I just had my transmission mount and torque arm mount changed yesterday. Now as I slightly press on the gas pedal from a complete stop, there is a vibration that occurs which vibrates the entire car. The vibration occurs for approximately 2 seconds then goes away. Now when Im on the freeway going about 45 mph, the whole car vibrates as if my tires were out of balance. The vibration goes away after 50 mph but comes back at about 70+ mph. Now is it possible that the driveshaft might have been bent when the mechanic had to use a jack to jack up the transmission to change the tranny mount. Or may be it has something to do with the torque arm mount? Any insight on the situation would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'd look at the U-joints first. It sounds like the rear one might not be seated all the way. You can put the axle on jack stands and put the car in drive and look at the driveshaft while it's spinning to see if you have any bends in it. The mechanic could have knocked a balancing weight off also. Any of those things would cause a vibration like you describe

i'd look over what was done, unbolted and bolted back up before i go looking in new places for problems.

Hey ODB, I'm not sure if he needed to to install the new torque arm mount. I wasnt there when he fixed the car.

Make sure the shaft wasn't ****ed from the factory. Mine was stock, but crooked. The yoke was welded in wrong initially. Have a shop check it while spinning it to be sure.

sounds like what i just had fixed on my car.

the u-joints on the driveshaft where f***ed! and the the mechanic was suprised it was stil their. because the u-juints where toast, the drive shaft kept shifting, messing up both the rear tranny seal and the rear end. ever since midas fixed it, i love my car in a whole new way
