Problem! I have a 700r4 and would like to know what are the three siloids are used for.

"Solenoids", perhaps?

3? I know of one, for the torque conveter clutch lockup.

You are right five7kid, the word is solenoids. There are three in the valve body, does anybody know what they are used for??

Wellllll, there is only 1 solenoid in the 700, the tcc solenoid. You may be seeing the accumulators, or pressure switches maybe.

ok, the 4L60(700R4) uses one solenoid...the TCC solenoid. the 4L60-E however, uses 5 solenoids....TCC, Pressure Control Solenoid, 3-2 Control Solenoid, Shift A Solenoid, and Shift B Solenoid.

maybe you saw the 4L60-E by mistake?????

Perhaps what you're seeing are "servos". They apply the bands via pressure. Basically pistons.
