11.5:1 comp ratio 327 with a t-5 behind it. how long will the t-5 last?
Subscribethat motor makes like 430 horses and i was just wondering how long it would handle that power.

from now untill long after you sell the car, or it might go south on the first launch.

it depends on how you drive it. If you abuse it with 5000 rpm clutch drops and power shifts, then my guess is about a week. If you dont power shift and are somewhat polite on your launches you should get at least a couple years out of it before it goes (assuming its in good condition now). Ive had my BW t-5 behind my 350 for over a year now and its just starting to show signs of fatigue, but its probably got a ways to go before it completely goes out. *sigh* i guess its time for a t-56

I had a T-5 behind my 510HP/485ft lb 355 and I can tell ya, 3rd gear will go first. It just happened to us, but we knew that T-5 wouldn't hold, it was all a matter of how long. It lasted about 6 months and was wining pretty bad before my son took all the teeth off of 3rd a couple weeks ago. Now I am trying to get ahold of 5speedtransmissions.com. They offer (or offered, don't know if they are still in business) TKO600 conversion that WILL handle it, but I haven't heard back from them yet. Let ya know if I do here from them.

I'm pushing 425/410 at the flywheel my t-5 has 80k on it and a hurst short throw. I've been driving the. At daily for three months with no issues. But I do not abuse my car. I built mine to cruise and that's what it does. If you built it to drag, go with a t56

Well since this post is about 10 years old, I am sort of wondering if OP is still around and maybe he could tell us how long it lasted.
