Re: wont shift

I've seen maf unplugged on many camaros and corvettes only to find that when plugged in the car runs worse. Your transmission uses no electrical at all to make shifts up or down. A bad running engine that is stumbling or weak can wreak havoc on the shift points though. I would recommend getting the maf hooked up properly and engine running good before doing anything transmission related.
Late shifting and no upshifting 700r4's a lot of times have a stuck throttle valve not to be confused with the T.V. plunger. The plunger can be seen by removing the trans pan and pulling the t.v. cable. to get to the throttle valve the valve body has to be removed. Aftermarket company's sell a throttle valve that has a return spring so it doesn't get stuck so easy. Probably if it is stuck it is stuck for a reason-debris too excessive. Stuck governors or stripped out plastic gears on them could also be a cause, and can be accessed by removing the round cover on the drivers side. Note: you did hook up the cable again when you installed your aftermarket intake right? YOU NEVER KNOW I just had to ask because your description is so clear on the intake track being aftermarket and all. The T.V. cable needs to be hooked up at all times or you damage your trans.
