Which year T5 do I need to look for?
I'm planning of putting a T5 in my 82 camaro. I'm concerned about gear ratios and speedometer connection. When did chevy start putting the speed sensor on the tranny? Can you connect a speedometer cable to a tranny that came with a speed sensor? Also, are there any issues related to gear ratios(close ration, etc)?
Thanks,
Ken

88-92 are the stronger World Class T5's, look for those. The electronic speedo sensor in the trans is interchangeable with a cable speedo. If you get a WCT5 from an 88-89 Camaro, it'll have a cable speedo. WCT5's from 90+ Camaros and 88+ Firebirds are electronic, but like I said, the speedo is interchangeable.
