possible governor problem
Hi, I noticed that my TV cable has some slack or play when you disconnect it from the throttle linkage and pull slightly and theres some play before you feel it like engage. Is there suppose to be some slack?.
Also, a while back I installed a 4th gen rear (2.73 drum to 3.23 disk)and I also, replaced the speedo gear and sensor. I have the right combo for a 3.23 ratio but, ever since this swap the tranny has shifted different. when I take off from 1st to 2nd it feels like 2nd doesn't complete its shift and you feel it shift again and then it goes into 3rd O.K. and then into O.D. Now when I get about 60MPH it at times downshifts but doesn't feel like a complete downshift. My RPM's do increase when this occurs. when it first goes into O.D. the RPMs are at about 17-1800 RPM and then when this downshift occurs the RPMs increase to about 21-2200 RPMs. Need help from expert. thanks.

Hi Kevin91z, No I didn't know I had to change it. Now I never changed one and what or which governor do I get and from where and is it easy to replace. Thanks

Hello again, Anyone tranny experts can help me with diagnosis of tranny governor that was suggested that could be my shift problems. As I said in my earlier post I swapped rearends from a 2.73 to a 4th gen 3.23 and tranny hasn't shift properly since. I've never worked on a governor before and is it a easy removal and install or do I need pro help. which one would I need for this swap and where can I go to get one. Thanks
