4rd 9" fabrication questions, and which years to use
If I was to be getting one from a donor car, does anyone know which cars would be similar in width to a 3rdgen? I was thinking a Maverick or early Mustang would be close. I am not familar on which years to use.
Also doesn't Spohn make a bracket for the torque arm? I have a spare junked rear that I am going to savage the lower control arm mounts off of. I have Weld draglites so I was told they will work fine with the Ford bolt pattern. Any other suggestions? I know it will be alot of work but I don't have the money to spend on a aftermarket unit so I am going to give it a shot. I see them in the classifieds going cheap here locally.

For a third gen diff I think dimension X is very close to 61". I don't have the exact measurment any more
A car diff is a better find than a truck diff. The car diff will have the pinion closer to the center of the vehicle. This means the drivers side axle is shorter than the passenger side.
Good luck finding an early Mustang, Cougar, Fairlane, Comet, Falcon 9" diff. These have been snatched up but ford owners long ago.

Thanks
I might be in luck since a friend of mine had two Comets that he was parting out. I hope he still has them.
