Sure, I put 3.73s on my 2 series posi, you just have to get the 3.73s specificly designed for a 2 series carrier.

You can use series 3 gears but buy a ring gear spacer, for $45 you get the spacer and new bolts. I ordered mine from scoggin dickey. They work just fine.

Well, it's more like 3 series gears ON a 2series carrier. All thirdgen 10 bolts have the same "shell", just different insides. You could put a 3 series carrier inside your existing rear and use 3 series gears without a spacer.

John, are you getting the SLP takeoff posi? Its already 3-series, just get that and the gears and you're set. And you'll also need the right speedo gears for your trans.

Kevin,
Yeah I'm planning on gettin the take off posi and buying a set of 3.42's. I talk to the guys at Pro-Gear here in San Diego and they said it can be done. It's gonna be about $300 for labor though It's worth it to me though.

Somebody else you might want to call is Oceanside Driveline. I've never used any of them though, I do all that sort of thing myself, but they are another place in the area to check anyway.

Like Kevin said, if you get the SLP take-off, it's 3-series. All you need is the standard 3.42 gear. The posi is the carrier.
