rear axles

I am new here, usually 4th gen stuff. I saw someone selling a 4th gen rear axle for a 3rd gen. Do they fit without sticking out a mile without offset wheels? mounts the same? springs the same size? Thanks for repies.

Welcome to TGO. You'll find that a search here is always a good thing. The fourgens are 2" wider per side. The swap is direct. I'm unsure about the e-brake, however.

Re: rear axles

Thanks for the speedy reply James. Very glad to hear they interchange because I have a couple to get rid of. As far as the e-brake..... who cares.

Re: rear axles

If its a LT1 rear end than the e brake will bolt up fine, if its an LS1 rear however, some mods are needed to get it to work. As for sticking out here is my lt1 rear on my 91 RS with 235's on the stock 15 in rims.

Saber's correct: The 89-97 PBR's are nearly identical.
