Will my POS 10 bolt survive?

I have a stock 10 bolt in my car with an Auburn Offroad Pro Posi and GM 4.10 gears. I recently put Nitto Drags on my car. I've yet to heat them up good and drop the hammer in fear of grenading my rearend. With my combo (see profile), I figure I'm putting out close to 500 ft-lbs of torque. I am away from home (300 miles) and this is my only mode of transportation at this point. Will it live?

Flip a coin. Heads it lives, tails it dies. Thats about the best we can do.

I'm no drivetrain pro, but after what happened to me i'd say don't tempt fate, if you can help it. I blew up my 3.73 rear end in my '84 (see sig) and I only had a pair of GoodYear Eagle II's out back, P-275-60-R15. Turned out it couldn't take the hit when it shifted from 1st-2nd, that lovely drop in the 700R4. And i've only got a mildly improved L69!! I am planning on going 9-bolt when funds permit.

You do have the aftermarket posi/31 spline axles.

Most failures I had seen were 26 spliners getting chewed and stock spider gears shattering. That is alot of torque though and nothing is certain.

Maybe a girdle would be a good investment (Not saying it still wont eventually break sometime....... but it will definatly help)

We are running a Alburn posi and GM 3.73's. The car runs 11.70's with a T-350 and 3000 stall. We also run the Nittos. I am afraid of slicks, the the car has many runs on the 7.5.

well not to scare you but, I have blowen up my 10 bolt so many times it is pissing me off. I used urban, and gm twice. richmond and now gm again. one axle I had the dealership fix it 3 times me once and a couple of other shops. I think it just gets scared when it hears the tires go up in smoke and decides to brake.
