T5 CASE DIFFERENCE
I WAS WANTING TO KNOW IF A TRANSMISSION CASE OUT OF A 4 CYLINDER S-10 WAS THE SAME CASE AS THE ONES USED IN CAMAROS. REASON BEING, I HAVE A TRANSMISSION OUT OF A V8 CAMARO THAT IS BUSTED BETWEEN THE FRONT BEARING HOUSINGS AND THOUGHT I MIGHT BE ABLE TO TAKE THE INTERNALS AND PUT IT IN THE S-10 CASE.
Re: T5 CASE DIFFERENCE
The v6 bellhousing bolt pattern is usually different than the v8, although I don't know about the s-trucks case for sure. Otherwise, as long as they are either both world class or both non-world class, then yes everything will swap between the main cases, but you will need to retain the camaro tail-housing.

Re: T5 CASE DIFFERENCE
I KNOW THE BELLHOUSING PATTERN IS DIFFERENT BUT WHAT ABOUT WHERE IT BOLTS TO THE BELLHOUSING?
Re: T5 CASE DIFFERENCE
I believe that is what he said, the bolt pattern where the transmission bolts to the bellhousing is different. The V8 transmissions usually have ears that stick out from the sides of the case for the bolt holes. The S10 V6 and I4 cases have the bolt holes right next to the case.
The way I understand it all of the T5 cases are the same internally. The only difference would be between the WC and non WC cases. These take different bearings, so the cases are different. The difference between the Jeep, Ford, GM V8, V6 and I4 cases is the way that they bolt to the bellhousing. There are differences between input shafts, main shafts and extention housings too, but I think all of these parts can be swapped into other main cases. So if you wanted Mustang parts in an S10 case I think you could swap them.
If you wanted to put your Camaro parts in an S10 case I think you could use it, but you would have to drill the new bolt pattern in the bellhousing. The bellhousing might not be cast in a way that would allow you to drill the new holes, so check it out first.
There are also many T4 transmissions that can be converted to T5s. If you find a T4 that has the extention on the countershaft for 5th gear then all you have to do is take 5th and all of the related parts from a T5 and add them to the T4 to make it a T5. I have broke many T5 transmissions in my S10 4x4 and I have built 2 new T5s from T4s by adding the 5th gear and changing all of the shifter parts.
Please turn off the caps.

Re: T5 CASE DIFFERENCE
I just compared the bolt pattern on one of the S10 V6 cases that I have with one of my Muncie 4 speed cases and they are the same. So I guess that all of the GM T5 cases are the same, other than the difference between the WC and non WC cases.

you were right in the first place. The f-body v6 cases have a smaller bellhousing bolt pattern, up close to the case.
