2.73 to 3.42 swap

I have a '92 firebird 305tbi/700r4. I would like to swap the rear gear to 3.42s. What kind of 70mph rpm can I expect. Any problems to look out for?. Any quesses what kind of 0 to 60 improvement?

As far as the RPM: 3.42 / 2.73 * whatever it is now.

Hard to say about your times, I'd guess anywhere from .3 to .5 sec is typical, every car is different.

You'll have to either replace the carrier with a 3-series, in which case the thing to do would be to get one from SLP; or use the special gears; or use a ring gear spacer. I'd recommend option 1 which will give you a posi as well as accomodating the gear change gracefully.
