Question on a T-5
Hi ya'll, ok I found a T-5 5spd, But it came out of a V6. I was told that it would work on a V8. I know I have to get the bellhousing for V8. My question is on the t-5 that came out of a V6 has a input shaft spline of 14 and all the clutchs' I can find for a V8 are 10 and 26. And GM doesn't make that input shaft anymore. So will a performance clutch and flywheel for a V6 be able to handle the V8??
Thanx guys, Travis

Re: Question on a T-5
Lots of info about this available from a search.
Basically, the trans won't bolt to the V8 bellhousing, and you'll need to run a v6/14 spline clutch disc with a V8 pressure plate. - The correct pieces to use are listed in many of the threads about this, again, hit up the search key for tons of info.

Re: Question on a T-5
Not to hi jack the post but I did the same thing purchaced a completly rebuilt T5 from a 97-02 camaro with a 26 spline input shaft from the 88-92 camaros which can still be purchased today. The ratios in mine are 2.75-1.94-1.34-1.0-0.74. From what I am reading it WILL NOT bolt up to the third gen bell. What are my options?
Re: Question on a T-5
My brother tried to put a T5 from a 2.8 V6 behind a 4.3 V6 by using a V8 bellhousing. The input shaft was too long and the bearing retainer was also too long. The case bolted up just fine, but the shaft and bearing retainer required some work. He used a clutch disc from an Astro van.
