Corvette Transmission

What kind of manual transmission did the 87-92 corvettes get and why can't we use them in our cars? I ask this because I'm looking into getting a 350 5spd, and I know my world class T5 can't handle the torque.

Gained 20HP by porting and polishing my EGR passage.

The 89-96 Corvettes used a ZF6 6-speed transmission, and yes you can put it in a thirdgen. However its very expensive, and the installation parts are almost non-existant now. A 93-97 4th gen f-body T56 swap is much cheaper and easier.
