Rear End Leak????
Rear End Leak????
I have rear end leak near the left wheel and it's just a lil bit of oil that's being caked on but how would I go about fixing this and what is the problem??? I have posi- and 3.23 gears.

The outer bearing seal on that side is probably shot. All you need to do is drain the fluid and take the axle out. Using the splined end of the axle use it to pry the seal out. Then press the new one in. Those are VERY general instructions. Email me or someone else will probably chime in.

Yup, rip the old seal out, clean the bore good. Smear a little silicone or loc-tite on the outside of the new seal and tap it in. Use a big pipe, a seal tool or a block of wood to hit it in square. If the seal went bad there might be a chance the outer axle bearing is bad too.
