no second gear 700r4 help!!!!!!!!!!

Just pulled the 305 out of my 84z and dropped a 355- second gear stopped working all the sudden-no slipping no noises??? any ideas. all other gears work fine and the converter locks up-fluid pink smells ok not burned.will go from first to third when in drive unless im gasing it then it drops into first again at high rpms. if i shift into 2 around 20 it is like neutreal then it revs high enough to be in first.PLEASE HELP dont feel like spending more money than the $2500 motor job that f**ked my trans up

Do you still have overdrive? Are the shifts at light throttle openings at the right time?, or are the shifts very late? I need to know this, so I can be of some help!

still have od-shifts fine other wise- what i was talking about down shifts i mean when in third if i accelerate, when it should kickk into second it dumps into first. If i manually put it into 2 it is like neutreal until it is in first gear rpm range

Intermediata clutch/band (not sure on 700r4, I will look it up and repost!) could be burned up. You said the fluid is pink, right?
