As the title sais my trans is stuck in 1 foward gear!! I can put it into reverse,nutral, and park but in forward it is in 1st only! The shift linkage/ cable has come undone but that is fixable with a cotter pin(or something like that), the trans seemed to have ran dry then a buddy and i droped the pan and did a full service!! My buddy seems to think that some governer weights are stuck and i should hit near the tailshaft with a rubber hammer!! Any ideas???

 

If you lost it all at once, then it is the governor gear. Either broken or stripped.
