What 700-R4 do i have ??

I just pulled the trans out of my '86 Z28. I had heard that there were some improvements in '87 so i assumed since i had an '86 mine wouldn't. But i looked in the FAQ's the other day and it said if the casting number ended with '732' then you had the trans with the improvements. I looked at my casting number and it is 8654732. Does my trans have these improvements ? The car had 130K on it so i guess it's possible another trans was put in before as i just recently purchased it (last year). Can anyone tell me for sure what this casting number corresponds to as far as year and whether or not it has the upgrades made around '87. The car was built in late '85, so it's not like it's a late '86 thing. Thanks for any info

You could pull the pan and check for sure, since changing the filter would be a good idea anyway. If it really is an 86 it probably (most likely) is the older version although maybe it was swapped before.
