T-5 swap !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
T-5 swap !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am going to get that lame piece of sh** 700R4 out of my 1988 GTA. So I was wondering if you can put any kind of t5 into the car. I know that ford and a few others make it would that work? And if it did would it be better.

umm... depends on the price... ford T5's won't work, and they suck and stuff... if you're going to get a GM T5, get one from an 88+ Firechikkin or Camaro that had a 305 ...
that or you can buy a brand new 5 speed from tremec, tci, etc. etc...
or if you have cash, a T56 which you'll be happier with
just remeber, you'll be needing a clutch setup, new bellhousing, figure out how to do the clutch pedal assembly, etc. etc.. and some cutting of the hole for the shifter methinks...
spendy little operation sometimes

yes i agree...if yo ucan afford it,the t-56 is a much better setup....but requires a really low rear end gear to totally enjoy it...look in the tech articles..theres on on swapping a auto car to a stick car ,and it should answer all your questions
