well since you didnt give me any info on the car. i would say that 9", they rarely ever break. its almost impossible especially for an Fbody.
but either one will work.

Hi, BORLAZ06!

Jarrad's right! 9" is MUCH stronger rear - If you plan on 300 HP or more, don't waste time and money on 7.5" 10-bolt.

Happy Motoring,

Harry

I would go with the 9 inch in you plan on building up your car or if it is already built up, I have one from Moser myself. However, they do offer another alternative as well, and that is the GM 12 bolt. I don't know a ton about 12 bolt's but I am sure that it is also very strong. It is just a touch cheaper from them too. The whole thing from Moser seems to be a really good deal now too, it bolted up fairly easily for me and almost everything stayed perfectly in place. You can buy it direct or I believe SPOHN carries it as well. I had just two problems which I will tell you, but I am not sure if Moser has addressed them yet. Firstly, you will need an adapter to keep your rear sway bar. SPOHN sells this I think for like $70, then there was two pieces of maching that I had to do. Firstly, Moser didn't offer the complete unit like they did now, so I put on a Strange case. The torque arm bracket that bolts too it needed to be machined to clear touching the case, and I could not use the long pass through bolt on one side of it. I haven't had any trouble with it since though. The other thing was there is a plate that needs to be machined to go over the axle on the wheel hub near the brakes. This cost me $150 to have machined properly. Other than that, the 9 inch is supposed to be the strongest rear around. I put a locker in mine, which is not as pleasant as a slip but much better hook up. Good luck.
