rear-end exchange

Would it be possible just to take the rear-end from a 87 2.8 v6 and put it on a 89 camaro RS V8, will the drive shaft fit or will have have problems with the # of spline ??? is the 87 rear-end weaker ???

The '87 axle won't be weaker because of the V6, it'll be weaker because of the fewer axleshaft splines. The driveshaft will still fit.

Ok thanks, since I got 3.42 gears and pinion ratio in the v6, and I have 2.73 in the V8. Wich one should I keep or install ???? What would be the best ??? I knw that all the older camaro had 26 spline into the rear-end ...even 350 ...

The 3.42's will definatly help your cars acceleration and will be ok on the highway as well.

Those 26 splines will hold up just fine.
