84 Posi rearend

Just wanted to pick some brains.....does a 84 rebuilt(supposedly) posi/disk/3.73 rearend for $200 sound like a good deal? It would be going in my 91RS.

Thanks!

Re: 84 Posi rearend

Does it have an Auburn posi in it? If it does then it might be all right, and it might be worn out. The Auburn can not be rebuilt. When they wear out they are scrap metal and must be replaced. If someone put an Eaton Posi in it then they would want more than $200 for it. It could have a Governor Lock in it. If it does then you won't want to be too hard on it. The Gov Lock has several small parts in it that can break easily if you abuse it too much.
