Re: REAR DIFFERENTIALS

What kind of racing? Different kinds of racing require different differentials. A car that will only be drag raced needs a spool. A car that will be drag raced, but still see some street use needs a Detroit Locker. A car that is a little more street than drag race needs a clutch type differential like the Eaton posi. A road race or auto cross car needs something like the Torsen or Truetrac.

Re: REAR DIFFERENTIALS

is it auto or standard? for a standard id use a 4:11 and an auto a 3:73. that would be the best street/strip id go with. if you were worried about fuel milage i guess a 3:42 for auto would be better but not by much.

Re: REAR DIFFERENTIALS

In my opinion the Eaton is the best street/strip differential that you can get for a GM car. I don't like the Auburn at all for several resons, and the Torsen and Truetrac sometimes have some issues with one wheel spinning when doing a burnout. I think the Eaton is worth the extra money. It can be tuned, rebuilt and it will last longer than the other clutch type differentials.
