to convert my 85 non-posi rear(3.42) to a posi rearend? Also what would I need? Thanks

 

cost is just a little easier to guess than picking winning lotto numbers, lot depends on prices in your area a nd if you want new parts or not. i bought a complete 3:73 posi 10 bolt rear for 125 dollars. if you don't change gears all you need is a posi carrier for your car, swap ring gear, set backlash, add oil and go. you can buy some stronger carriers but they all require 28 spline axles, which you don't have and that would add to the cost.
