Richmond Excel Ring & Pinions????

So I'm about to order a new ring & pinion for my 89 IROC. I am going from a 2.73 to a 3.42. I noticed there is just regular Richmond Gear set which are around $200, then there's the Richmond Excel's for around $160. I was wondering if anyone has any experience/knowledge with the Excel series of gears. Are they decent gears? They will only be behind a mild LB9, and not beat on to bad. Thanks in advance for any info. James

Find out where they are made. If they come from China then PASS. It's not about the strength, but the amount of noise that they will make when you are driving.

I can't find out where they are made, I might just go with a set from Yukon for $20 more.
