Valve body swap

Is it a good idea to swap a manual valve body into my 700r4, so i have control over shifts??? Will it have that stiff feel of a manual tranny?? If I do this will it wear the tranny excessivly? I am seriously considering this mod, so your comments are greatly appreciated.

If this is a street car, don't bother as it gets old after about a day. You can have more manual control to hold a gear longer or downshift manually to a lower gear W/O using a manual VB. I would suggest a TransGo Reprogramming Kit as it will not only increase the life of your trans but it will give that kind of control. If you have it O/H'ed at the same time it has some peices that will help the unit handle much higher RPM. I don't recommend going much over 5500 RPM W/O those parts installed. With them you are good to @7800 RPM. If you do I would also get the HiRev Pump Ring Kit for the same reasons (a blown pump makes a real mess for the @$30 it costs for the kit). If you insist on going manual, TransGo has a full manual Reprogramming Kit too. Not to mention a special pump valve for those who want to use a Non-Lock-Up converter in a 700.
