should i keep my auto??

i just bought the car a week or 2 ago (finally get insurance on it tomorow)...it is an 87 Iroc with the 350...the engine is stock except for the flowmaster cat. and muffler.

I would like to change to a 6sp cause i love manuals. What do you guys think? should i stick with the auto for a while and build up the engine then do manual? or save up for the swap first (i can do the install)?

have any of you done the auto to 6sp and regret it? thanks for any input/info given?

hmmm maybe i should give my goal for the car...i have always owned a 4cyl (last car was a 99 dodge neon R/T) and i want a car that can go fast when i hit the gas...not like a 4 cyl where you have to rev it past 5-6k to get any power...so i am looking for more low rpm hp-torque. thanks again

mike

ps..the one time that i have drove the IROC i can tell it is gona be a sweet car!!!!!

If you have the extra coin, go for it. Just remember that if you have a limited amount of money, the money spent on a 6sp and stuff needed for the swap could be used for other mods that would yield a faster car in the end.
